Static Dread: The Submarine Walkthrough Hub
Plot beats and ending forks without Lighthouse radio codes.
This hub is the story side of the wiki. The Guides Hub teaches systems. Here we put those systems in order: accident, First Mate briefing, sonar watches, Timmy, reactor, rift, mutated crew, sealed Captain, and credits. Static Dread: The Submarine is a branching single-player game that launched 14 August 2026. There is no one true path. There is a first path, then flags.
Start with the story walkthrough if you are mid-run and stuck on a door. Start with the endings guide if you already sat through credits and want Dream Team, cultist, or Blackfort. Named sailors and how they break are detailed in crew fates.
How to use these pages
Read top to bottom on your first watch if you only want unstuck help. Skip ending names until you have one credits sequence. The story page keeps mid-article mechanical help (where to log a deck, when to sit sonar) and points back to Getting Started, sonar, crew management, survive, and Timmy.
Do not paste Lighthouse nuclear sequences into this walkthrough. Those codes (radio 018.9, 357, Omega, launch 74-20-73) belong to the other game. The Ares has its own objects, including salvage like NMA-237, and its own trophies.
What a run looks like
Most Steam clocks land around three to four hours for one ending. You will:
- Survive the opening leak and report the stairwell.
- Take the roster and staff Kelly, Zack, Sharon, and Michael.
- Sit sonar until a heading toward coast, wreck, or rift unlocks.
- Deal with Timmy’s algae.
- Chase reactor access while the core counts down.
- Hit a late-game mythos beat — city, temple, enemy, Captain’s door — shaped by how many people you still have.
- Credits, then a second run if you care.
Collectibles and arcade toys are optional noise in that skeleton. Park them on the collectibles page unless a trophy is your whole reason to replay.
Branch language we use
- Mission first — shoot Timmy, force labor, spend sailors, ping aggressively.
- Crew first — spare, refuse, keep Dream Team possible.
- Investigate — follow rifts, keys, temples, Blackfort.
- Withdraw — coast, survival, Survivors trophy.
Those are critic languages, not in-game menu names. The files still just show conversations and roster cards. If a choice says you cannot turn back, believe it. Reviewers complained that some decisions feel locked immediately; plan with endings before you click.
When you should not be here
If you have not launched the game, read the review and launch notes instead. If you cannot move or shoot, you need Controls, not a plot map. If the boat is flooding, you need how to survive. Walkthroughs do not stop a hatch.
When you are ready for the ordered beat sheet, open the story walkthrough. When you are ready to spoil flags, open endings. Keep the Crew Hub in another tab so names stay attached to jobs.
The Ares is short. Getting lost is usually a missed log, a missed sonar homework, or a missed roster card — not a missing wiki page. Use this hub to pick which of those three you actually forgot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is there a single correct walkthrough?
No. Headings and crew choices change later maps. Use Story for order, Endings for flags.
Will this spoil Timmy?
The story page mentions the fork. The Endings Guide names trophies. Leave if you want a blind first watch.
Can I use Lighthouse codes here?
No. Those radio and nuclear sequences are from the first game and do not apply to the Ares.
How many hours should I budget?
One ending is usually 3–4 hours. Trophy hunting and extra endings take additional runs.
