Static Dread: The Submarine Collectibles on the Ares
Optional objects. Staff the leak before you hunt a lava lamp.
Static Dread: The Submarine hides a handful of toy trophies inside a sinking boat. They do not replace sonar or crew management. They exist so a second run has pockets of play that are not Timmy. Hunt them after the hull is logged stable. The game launched 14 August 2026; object names below match Steam achievement titles.
Trophy objects
- Figurine / mermaid figurine — find it. Small, easy to walk past in a cluttered compartment.
- Groovy — find the jukebox. Music in a metal coffin is the joke.
- But First, Coffee — coffee machine tucked away. Do not make it your first-hour goal during the accident.
- Fish and talking mounted fish — two related finds. Listen if it talks; that is the tell.
- Static Deck — a console that is not the First Mate roster. Explore side rooms after watches.
- Lava lamp — “tucked away aboard the submarine.”
- Schrödinger’s picture — the peculiar cat portrait. Reviewers even joked about petting a cat in a Steam review. Look at walls, not just floors.
Exact room names shift with flags (flooded decks, sealed doors). If a door is shut, you missed a story log, not a collectible key. Use the story walkthrough to reopen geography, then sweep.
Mini-games
- Marksman — darts bullseye.
- King of the Hill — top darts score.
- Arcade Lover — 10,000 in Dread Invaders.
These are onboard toys. They are not sonar. They will not classify a whale. Play them when you have a quiet compartment and a living engineer still on the reactor job. Controller aim on darts is fine; mouse is easier for the arcade.
Investigation and radiation
- Elementary, my dear Watson! — all investigation tasks in one session. Do not leave detective cards overnight if you can finish the set. Staff Kelly/comms so those tasks still exist.
- 3.6 Roentgen — collect radiation sources. This can overlap with Zack’s radiation fate. If you are protecting him for Dream Team, do not treat glowing junk as free XP.
Salvage story objects (playtests mention NMA-237 via drone) are plot, not this list. Pick them up when a watch tells you to.
A clean sweep order
- Finish Getting Started and a heading.
- Note side rooms while walking between roster, sonar, and leaks.
- After Timmy is resolved (Timmy), sweep storage and galley spaces you were too scared to linger in.
- Park arcade/darts on a file you do not care about morally.
- Tick leftovers against achievements.
If a collectible is missing, you are probably in a branch where the room flooded or sealed. Start a new watch rather than clipping through the hull. This is not a Roblox explorer. There are no public coordinate codes.
For spec if the arcade stutters, system requirements. For whether toys pad a thin last act, the review already said the mythos can shrug — a jukebox will not fix that, but it will make the middle of the Ares feel lived in. For store/demo files, launch notes.
A figurine will not classify a whale. A jukebox will not staff Sharon. Treat this page as dessert after a heading exists, not as a reason to ignore the First Mate console. If you are still lost in the accident, close this tab and open Getting Started instead.
Find the lamp. Then go back on watch. The North Atlantic is still out there.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Are collectibles missable?
Some rooms seal with story flags. If a space is gone, start another run rather than waiting.
Do I need them for endings?
No. Endings care about crew and headings. Toys are trophies.
Where is the coffee machine?
Tucked in a side space. Sweep after the boat is stable; it is not in the opening leak tutorial.
Is Dread Invaders required?
Only for Arcade Lover. Skip it on a tense first ending.
