Retail is out. Demo files stay in the past.

Updates Hub

This hub tracks what is true about Static Dread: The Submarine after 14 August 2026. The game is released, not upcoming, not early access. It is single-player on Windows via Steam (app 4042160) and GOG. There is no multiplayer. Developer: solarsuit.games. Publisher: Polden Publishing. Official site: solarsuit.games.

The child page Launch Notes holds price, Deluxe extras, demo closure, and the save-transfer warning. Day-one and day-two hotfixes live on Patch Notes (14 August rare-event frequency; 15 August story-sequence / illegal interactable). Soundtrack, art, and the supporter pack are store extras on DLC, not binary patches.

What players still mix up

  • Demo versus retail. The demo closed before launch. Developers said saves will not carry over and that the demo was significantly outdated. Delete the assumption that your playtest Timmy choice still exists.
  • Lighthouse codes. Radio and nuclear sequences from the first game do not apply. This wiki will keep repeating that because search engines mash the titles together.
  • Roblox / codes / scripts. Wrong genre. Go back to the Guides Hub if you wanted sonar, not an executor.
  • Release date. 14 August 2026. If a preview still says the game is unreleased, it is stale. Our facts file matches Steam’s released flag.

Where to go instead of patch notes

Day-one problems are usually player routing, not missing hotfixes: gun bind (Controls), sealed doors (Getting Started), sonar homework (sonar), empty roster (crew management). Story confusion belongs on the Walkthrough Hub. Hardware confusion belongs on system requirements.

If a real patch changes reactor timing, trophy text, or languages, we will update the endings guide and this hub in the same pass. We will not silently rewrite history to pretend the demo was retail.

Platforms and extras

Steam has 45 achievements, Cloud, controller support, Family Sharing, and a Deluxe bundle (supporter pack, soundtrack, art). GOG is the DRM-free twin. Neither is a live-service. Buy the boat, play the watch, optionally replay for Dream Team.

Languages on Steam include English (audio), French, German, Japanese, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and Korean (audio). This wiki localizes English, French, German, and Spanish only.

For whether you should still buy after mixed story reviews, read the review. For the first hour, Getting Started. For Timmy, how to deal with Timmy.

Check this hub after patches. Until then, the Ares is out, the demo is closed, and your First Mate shift starts on the retail build.
